A few recent observations, by your rare spoken, but always watching/listening Amadeus:   Now, I got some of my viking stuff dug up for spring thyng. tunics, etc. (Dont worry colin heh, @ key points we WILL represent in our "dresses" heheh). And, While doing some reseach on viking headwear, I came across what seems to be a cool group, Regia Anglorum.(http://www.regia.org/main.htm). Now my initial obeservations (vaugue browsing and poking) indicate this to be an upgraded version of the SCA, but beginning @ an earlier timeframe. I think all our administrative staff should keep an eye on this RAPIDLY expanding orginisation, and even consider starting a NY chapter (celt themed of course), Before someone else does ;)? be sure to follow all the confusing links on the brit site, wich lead to USA. And note, there as of yet is NO NY chapter ;). I encourage all kin to take more than a quick glance @ their site(S), and share your opinions.... Another pre-1066 note: I have been contacted by LIVA (via myspace), a so called, and recently formed, "LI.Viking,Association", And made by what appears to be their whos-whos/upper-crusties (from what I can gather) a prospective member, or @ the least, an ally. I hereby request any available kin to come and help represent lochlaven (heh, we like to roll deep) , @ their next event. Im pretty sure it will be the ICON convention in stonybrook. I have informally offered them some pennsic help, as well as they are virgins. I think it is in the best interests of the house to help burgeoning groups that are nearby myself, lexi, and (somwhat geographically close), Iber @ sasha. What say the house? They seem much like ourselves, a year ago. good people most of whom are partiers...... I think that the more alliances we hold as a group the stronger we will become. I would like to officialy aprove any endeavor that could possibly either improve our standings and/or increase our ranks. Please keep us posted as to the advancement of the this small group of people. Inform them of the website and let them know that we are allways looking for new members. Im going to leave it up to you to organize a meeting of these peoples (preferably at your house for our next event) to discuss whatever house business there might be. Keep up the good work and good luck in your quest, if at any time you require assistance please let me know and I shall personally lend a hand or make the required arrangements. Cheers! [In character] I am sworn by oath, you have already, by this oath approved me to speak in what matter I will.   Update:   Last meeting was a flop (rained out, COLD). I will make it loch lavens buisness to incroach myself on their next formal event. Please post here any question the clanspeople abroad, would like answerd of them, also any statements/proclomations here be by this endeavor. For my oath does not allow me to speak alone, nor would I desire this. I have been contacted by Liam of Vykland to report the goings on of LIVA and their future involvement with them. I had made it a point in my post (as you will read) to have all corrispondance go directly through you. If there is a problem with that let me know.
