So Scottish Americans and Canadians are the Orginal "Rednecks". The Term "Hillbilly" is also of Scottish Origin. An interesting note on Scottish Americans is that in the Civil War times (1860s) the majority of those who settled in the South came from Scottish descent originally. So most Confederates were Scottish! The Confederate Battle Flag was designed by the Scots of Northern Virginia and the design of that flag was based on the St Andrews Cross.
